Jean’s Ministry Work
A native of West Texas, Jean Prescott wears her western heritage as comfortable as a well-broken-in pair of boots. When you meet her, you know immediately that she has a heart that bears the marks of the cross of Christ. While she loves the west…her first love is the Lord, Jesus Christ, and her music reflects her faith and her commitment to share His love with others.
Jean leads praise and worship and shares her music and testimony at every opportunity, and is always eager to make much of Jesus.
A multiple award-winning western singer, Jean’s CD, An Inspirational Tapestry of the West, was voted the 2002 Western Album of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists. The album has been described as having captured the spiritual essence of the west with a big dose of western faith and values.
Jean has also recorded a more contemporary gospel CD called Whisperings of Jesus. From country church to campfire or concert stage Jean always brings the message of God’s Word through her songs.
Jean is the wife of Gary Prescott, who is a rancher, singer/songwriter, and retired offshore directional drilling supervisor. They make their home south of Abilene, Texas, and attend Salt Branch Cowboy Church in Merkel, Texas, where Jean is the Women’s Ministry Team Leader, and Gary is a Lay Pastor and the Arena Ministry Team Leader.

Because she believes God inhabits the praises of his people, it is Jean Prescott’s desire to motivate God’s saints to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. A deep love for the Lord and a beautiful, rich singing voice enables Jean to do this.
Many years of singing both in church and for the secular world have given Jean an ability to be very sensitive to people. It is this gift that enables her to help people forget about their own inhibitions or fears and just focus on loving and worshiping the Lord in song.
